SPACE is OBSOLETE is a design studio based in Philly specializing in residential and commercial buildings and interiors. We create unique bespoke spaces while providing clients with a transparent streamlined process. Our name questions the inherent notion of physical space within the context of modern society - an analog vs digital world.
JENNIFER HOFER JEFFREY is the Founding Principal of SiO. Formally trained as an architect, her focus on thoughtful creative environments is influenced by her professional experiences as a designer and photographer with a background in the Fine Arts. Born in Taiwan, and raised in Northern Italy, she earned her professional Architecture Degree from The City College of New York, and her Master’s from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design. She is also currently an Adjunct Professor of Practice at Drexel University’s School of Architecture.
Our goal is to make the design and construction process as efficient and client-friendly as possible. We focus on clear and consistent communication – emails or calls are returned within 24 hours or less – and well-defined project goals and logistics from the outset. Whether this is your first time working with a design professional or you’re already an experienced client, we tailor our approach to best serve as your trusted advisor and design partner.
Generally we work with architectural projects of construction budgets of $250,000 and upwards. For interior renovation projects, our project budgets are usually $50,000 minimum. Design fees vary with project scope, complexity, and services provided, but are usually figured as a percentage of the construction cost.
We look forward to hearing about your next project – please email us to request an appointment time for a consultation. Consultations are $75, which can be applied to your project should you choose to work with us.
